NVable

Global aviation specialist Dr Hugh Revie has recently joined the team at NVable’s Glasgow HQ as the new Chief Operating Officer.

NVable Limited, founded in 2005 by Scottish entrepreneur Cameron Hood, is already a leading provider of IT consulting services and bespoke software solutions.  It operates across a number of business sectors and in recent years has built up significant expertise in delivering solutions to the aviation and transportation sectors.  Building on this success will be a key objective for Hugh in his new role with the company as it diversifies and extends its reach into providing strategic consulting support across a wide range of business sectors.

Cameron Hood, CEO of NVable, confirmed his delight at having Hugh on board and commented that Hugh’s extensive knowledge and experience of the challenges currently faced by the global aviation industry will be an excellent catalyst for the NVable team to expand upon their penetration of the aviation market.

Hugh’s experience comes from time spent in both the manufacturing and service sectors of the aviation industry.  In addition to a successful career working at a senior level with both BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce, Hugh set up his own aviation sector solutions business, CoreData Limited, in 1999 and later oversaw its successful sale to Data Systems and Solutions (a Rolls-Royce company formed through a joint venture with SAIC).

Prior to joining BAE Systems, Hugh completed his initial degree at Dundee University and continued his studies at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.  He completed a PhD in Materials Engineering and spent 14 years with BAE Systems before launching CoreData.  The company specialised in technical data management including data capture, analysis and reporting, with the goal of ultimately driving value from otherwise underused data for the benefit of the customer.

More recently, Hugh has operated as a business consultant and corporate troubleshooter with a number of companies, including the Rusada Group (formerly Russell Adams), which he helped transform into a leading provider of complex asset management software for the aviation sector.

Hugh is a visionary leader and his engineering background, extensive aviation industry experience and business management skills put him in a unique position to see what needs to be done in any challenging business situation and then plot a detailed course of action to achieve the goal.  He continues to be very passionate about driving “value from data” across all business sectors, but especially within the aviation industry.  This will be his primary focus as he starts working with the team at NVable.
