NVable Website

It has to be said that a revamp of the NVable website is long overdue and now certainly seems like an appropriate time for the change.

I hope you like the new design, although I’m sure we will continue making changes over the course of the next few weeks.  We also have more plans for content – expect to see updates about the team shortly, further blogs and more on our projects. We’ve also set up new twitter feeds and I can recommend signing up to the stream of consciousness of #TeamNVable for some entertaining moments and the occasional insight.

Refocusing the website brought back memories about the inception of NVable.  At the time there were two main drivers.  The first was simply my long held passion for combining business and technology; the second was to give customers “something real”.  Let me expand on that.  Over the course of my career I have worked with a variety of companies that have used consultants. And I found it more than a little frustrating to see customers not getting the right advice or solution time after time.  Now, let’s be clear, I am not saying that this is representative of the majority of consultancy businesses.  I just witnessed my fair share of it.

I suppose, in the broadest sense, certain behaviours didn’t sit well with my sense of business ethics.  Since those days I have seen many more examples of behaviours that I believe are just plain wrong.  And there often seems to be increasingly less substance behind business claims – just noise and bluster or smoke and mirrors.  Doing business can, and should, be different.

In a sense, NVable is the embodiment of that.  Our customers will always receive the best efforts of the team to solve the problem at hand and the team always takes a personal pride in what they produce.  The NVable team are empowered.  They are given responsibility and accountability.

I am fortunate enough be surrounded by a group of very talented, like-minded individuals that take great pride in what they do.  Each of them knows how much I value what they bring to NVable – and they manage to put up with my idiosyncrasies!  I am glad to say I have had the pleasure of working with many of them for a long time.  That, in itself, tells you something about NVable.

You will see from the news items that Ian Lundie and Hugh Revie have recently joined NVable.  I’ve known both Ian and Hugh in a business capacity since we worked together at CoreData over 10 years ago and I am delighted that they are joining the team.  Their skills bring a new breadth of capability to the team and I am excited about the new directions that NVable will take.  We will be announcing some innovative projects over the coming months.  I look forward to sharing them with you.
